Pozzani SRO-300 Direct Flow Reverse Osmosis System

Part Code: SRO-300

In stock

Pozzani’s SRO-300 is a mid-capacity, direct flow system capable of producing up to 700l of purified water a day. It is a modular unit, mounted on a tubular steel frame which makes it easy to transport and site in virtually any working environment.
Description

Installation is straightforward and the system comes with everything you need for complete set up. Once installed, there are four cartridges to replace every six months which can be purchased in a pack together.

Industries and applications

RO systems are used in many different industries for a huge variety of applications. The type of RO system required will be based upon several factors including daily capacity requirements, levels of sediment in the incoming supply and what the treated water will be used for, amongst other things. The SRO-300 is generally suitable for the following industries and applications as examples:

  • Laboratories
  • Dentistry
  • Veterinary medicine
  • HVAC feed water
  • Fishkeeping
  • Healthcare
  • Automotive manufacture
  • Window cleaning
  • Drinking water supply
  • Equipment cleaning
  • Autoclaves
  • Food and beverage production
  • Process water for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemicals + petrochemicals

The principles of reverse osmosis

To best explain reverse osmosis and how RO systems work, it makes sense to first start with osmosis. Osmosis is a naturally occurring yet incredibly important natural diffusion phenomenon that occurs in the cells of both plants and animals. When osmosis occurs, water from an area of low solute concentrate will migrate across a semi-permeable membrane due to naturally occurring pressure, to an area of high solute concentrate in order to try and create equilibrium. The membrane allows the water to pass through but not larger molecules such as salt. In reverse osmosis, a large amount of pressure, which is greater than the naturally occurring osmotic pressure, is applied to the higher solute concentration in order to forcibly push water molecules through the semi-permeable membrane. The result on the other side of the membrane is pure water which is free from contaminants, as they are unable to pass through the membrane.

In RO systems, this process is utilised as a very efficient method of purifying water. The internal RO membrane rejects virtually all contaminants (which are sent away in wastewater through your drainage system) which leaves pure water feeding through to the storage tank. RO systems also have pre and post filters which add additional layers of contaminant removal to ensure the end water you receive is a pure as possible. The recovery of purified water is around 15-20% of the volume processed in a single pass of the membrane and the entire process is powered solely by water pressure.
