NR600 No10 Nitrate Removal Cartridge

Part Code: NR600

In stock

The NR600 cartridge contains a special anion exchange resin designed to selectively remove nitrate and nitrite. Removal efficiency decreases as the cartridge approaches exhaustion.
Description

The NR600 can be used as a standalone system used typically for Aquariums and Ponds or can be combined with a carbon based filter such as the IX600 to reduce nitrate levels in drinking water.

Due to differences in water quality, levels of nitrates in the water and personal usage we cannot state an exact life on these filters.

Important Note The life of the filter is proportional to the loading of Nitrate (NO3) and Sulphate (SO4) in the source water and the volume of water used. The more Nitrate and Sulphate in the source water and the more water you use, the faster the filter will exhaust. If you require advice prior to purchasing please contact us.

I use the two stage NR600/IX600 for my 180l tropical aquarium weekly water changes. Approximately 40-60l per week. London water is around 40-50ppl NH4. The filter drops this to around 5ppl. IX600 lasts 6-8 mnths. NR600 lasts around 3 mths, which i estimate to be around 500-600L. The system is very convenient, being installed underneth the sink, and being used for domestic drinking water. The taste of drinking water is much improved by nitrate removal, and the health issues, though debated, appear compelling. The Pozzani system offers good value, though advice on recycling the resin filters is needed as similar materials from other manufacturers can be reconditioned though use of salt water.

I use this for my 75L Aqaurium Initially I had an issue with my Nitrate always being quite high eventually i found that my water straight from the tap had 50ppm of nitrate in, so I did a search online for something I could use (other than chemicals) to reduce this, about 6 months ago I found this product and I can tell you now it works great it reduced the nitrate to amost 0 and also softened the water slightly too. I've been using it ever since. The cartrige lasts me about 3 months with the water in my area and my Nitrate levels are always under 25ppm now, happy fish happy me.

Removes all nitrate from my tap water, which has about 40ppm to start with. Keeping my aquarium levels low along with regular water changes. Recommended if you don't want the hassle of RO but you would like to keep more sensitive fish. I would recommend checking the filtered water regularly and always having a replacement cartridge on hand if you have high levels in your tap water. Once the cartridge begins to run out the nitrates may only be partially removed.
.
. Overall very pleased. Hopefully the two I've just bought will last me a while!

No need to plumb in, just buy a small recycling pump like a NEW-JET 800 a bit of tube and pump the aquarium water from the tank, through the Pozzani filter, and back to the tank. Removes Nitrate a treat although this might take a few days depending on the size of your tank. I plan to do 10% water changes weekly as normal then use the Pozzani occasionally to keep Nitrate levels down to 10ppm or so leaving some for the plants! Current tap water is 40ppm Nitrate though this should fall during the summer.

Started using these because my tap water was really poor, this started to affect my discus quite badly. These cartridges knock my tap water nitrate down from 40ppm to zero. Not really been able to measure life of the cartridge yet,but so far so good.

If you keep Goldfish or any other cold freshwater fish and you believe or know that you have a high Nitrate content in your tap water, then I can recommend the NR600 filter cartridge system to give practically zero Nitrate content. Worth the money and the small amount of time to install, if your happy and capable to do so.

I've been using this filter *NOT* plumbed in, as we would not be allowed to attach anything to the pipework in rented accomodation that could not be removed without damaging it. I've created a connection kit to attach to my sink tap, and I pull water through the unit once a week for my aquarium (avg 30Ltr per week). I store the unit wet with a tap each side to isolate before disconnection so the unit doesn't dry out.
.
. This product is absolutely essential, as my tap water Nitrate is reading 40ppm or more, which would leave my fish very unhappy. The unit lasted a good 8 weeks, leaving me with 0ppm Nitrate, before it started to break down, but even then it lasted another 4 weeks reducing water down to around 20ppm which is still low enough for the fish. I've just purchased a replacement after it finally gave up - 3 months use is far more than expected!
.
. Pozzani don't seem to recommend using this product unless it's plumbed in, but my experience is that it works absolutely brilliantly whether plumbed in or not.
