The IX250P/IX230P-UC cartridge has a 4 stage filtration system.
The suffix P designates the addition of an anti-scale stage which reduces the presence of limescale deposits in very hard water areas.
Stage 1: Ceramic filtration medium (1 micron) eliminates 99.8% of bacteria and 98% of suspended solids.
Stage 2: Carbon of high quality with special silver impregnation dramatically reduces chlorine and dissolved organic pollutants such as agro-chemicals, solvents, THM's, TCE's, PCB's, etc.
Stage 3: Ion Exchange system specific to heavy metals dramatically reduces lead, aluminium, copper, mercury, cadmium, iron, etc.
Stage 4: Block carbon ultra-efficient stage further reduces chlorine, dissolved organic matter and particulates, finally polishing the water.

. I would comment on the actual dispenser itself which I installed with my plumber when refitting my kitchen.
. By definition it is tricky to install as it it is fitted tight against and at the rear of the sink. We managed OK and then installed the sink. The next morning however the filter tap was not tight as the washer had compressed overnight. We had to remove the sink and retighten the locking nut. I would suggest that you change the supplied washer for a non compressing one and maybe serrate the underside of the flange of the tap to prevent movement.

. As soon as I purchased the same filter I knew that I had finally found an affordable solution to my hard water problem. After about 5 months I began to find the quality was deteriorating so I knew that the replacement cartridge was going to be needed soon. True to their word Pozzani sent me an email reminder and I purchased the replacement filter online immediately.It arrived within 48 hours and the only slight hitch was that I couldnt unscrew the old capsule so had to wait for a man to help and told him not to screw it back as tightly as the plumber had done originally! Cant speak highly enough for having this reliable affordable and marvellously simple appliance which has changed my water quality for good.
