The IX250/IX230-UC cartridge has a 3 stage filtration system.
Stage 1:
Ceramic filtration medium (1 micron) eliminates 99.8% of bacteria and 98% of suspended solids.
Stage 2:
Carbon of high quality with special silver impregnation dramatically reduces chlorine and dissolved organic pollutants such as agro-chemicals, solvents, THM's, TCE's, PCB's, etc.
Stage 3:
Block carbon ultra-efficient stage further reduces chlorine, dissolved organic matter and particulates, finally polishing the water.

. Recently I purchased IX250-R water tap filter system for by the sink and in the three weeks since purchas have been very plesaed with the taste gicen from it, in fact very happy with the whole unit, good price and of course you are able to select what type of tap you wish - I don't know anyone else who offers a service like this, once again a very good priced item on the filters when you think how much you pay out £12 or so inc delivery and it lasts 6 months - we have thrown our water filter jug away now.
