The IX250/IX230-UC cartridge has a 3 stage filtration system.
Stage 1:
Ceramic filtration medium (1 micron) eliminates 99.8% of bacteria and 98% of suspended solids.
Stage 2:
Carbon of high quality with special silver impregnation dramatically reduces chlorine and dissolved organic pollutants such as agro-chemicals, solvents, THM's, TCE's, PCB's, etc.
Stage 3:
Block carbon ultra-efficient stage further reduces chlorine, dissolved organic matter and particulates, finally polishing the water.

. The only think I would say is that when I ordered the cartridge I requested information on the water filtration system in order to pass it on to my daughter who was interested in installing one. However I have still not received the information although I did receive the cartridge very quickly.

. I live in a hard water area and used to use a jug filter system which although it worked, it was not very convenient.
. I have to change the cartridge about every 4 months as opposed to 6 months and I would be very happy if you could introduc a reminder for that period using email.
