The IX250/IX230-UC cartridge has a 3 stage filtration system.
Stage 1:
Ceramic filtration medium (1 micron) eliminates 99.8% of bacteria and 98% of suspended solids.
Stage 2:
Carbon of high quality with special silver impregnation dramatically reduces chlorine and dissolved organic pollutants such as agro-chemicals, solvents, THM's, TCE's, PCB's, etc.
Stage 3:
Block carbon ultra-efficient stage further reduces chlorine, dissolved organic matter and particulates, finally polishing the water.

. Changing the cartridge was also straightforward, once I had worked out which way was anticlockwise when viewed from the side!

. After changing the cartridge there was a noticeable improvement in the taste and rate of flow of the water.

. The only thing I did miss was that when ordering the cartridge on the internet I did not see a way of joining your AutoDespatch System, as is offered in the postal reminder.
