The IX250/IX230-UC cartridge has a 3 stage filtration system.
Stage 1:
Ceramic filtration medium (1 micron) eliminates 99.8% of bacteria and 98% of suspended solids.
Stage 2:
Carbon of high quality with special silver impregnation dramatically reduces chlorine and dissolved organic pollutants such as agro-chemicals, solvents, THM's, TCE's, PCB's, etc.
Stage 3:
Block carbon ultra-efficient stage further reduces chlorine, dissolved organic matter and particulates, finally polishing the water.

. There was a slight crack in the filter when I opened the box - it may have been damaged in transit, but I don't think that it will affect performance. I did report this to Pozzani but didn't get a response.

. Overall quite expensive. I only bought the filter because the previous occupants had the unit fitted. I can't really tell the difference in taste so I wouldn't bother to invest in the full system.

. No problem with product itself and in the past when there has been a issue such as broken in transit or whatever it has been replaced without question.
. I have been very pleased with Pozzani for many years now.......1990 + in previous house as well as current
