The IX250/IX230-UC cartridge has a 3 stage filtration system.
Stage 1:
Ceramic filtration medium (1 micron) eliminates 99.8% of bacteria and 98% of suspended solids.
Stage 2:
Carbon of high quality with special silver impregnation dramatically reduces chlorine and dissolved organic pollutants such as agro-chemicals, solvents, THM's, TCE's, PCB's, etc.
Stage 3:
Block carbon ultra-efficient stage further reduces chlorine, dissolved organic matter and particulates, finally polishing the water.

. So far I am unable to say whether or not this has had a beneficial effect on my family's health.
. My main concern before buying this filter was to get rid of fluorides and mercury in Severn Trent water. I sent an email to Pozzani asking if their filter removes these substances but did not receive a reply. This was dissapointing and I cannot recommend it to my friends until I get an answer.
. I signed up for the automatic filter renewal and promptly received a reminder after 6 months.

. My cuppa no longer has that chemical smell, and I always use filtered water to cook with
. Totally recommended
. I would like you to offer a recycling service for the old filters though
