The IX250/IX230-UC cartridge has a 3 stage filtration system.
Stage 1:
Ceramic filtration medium (1 micron) eliminates 99.8% of bacteria and 98% of suspended solids.
Stage 2:
Carbon of high quality with special silver impregnation dramatically reduces chlorine and dissolved organic pollutants such as agro-chemicals, solvents, THM's, TCE's, PCB's, etc.
Stage 3:
Block carbon ultra-efficient stage further reduces chlorine, dissolved organic matter and particulates, finally polishing the water.

. We had one plumbed in, July 2002 with regular and very easy filter cartridge changes, have always been happy with both the quality of the filtered water (its worth buying just for the clorine smell and taste removal), and the quick
. and very reasonable cost of the IX250 replacement filter cartridges (still at 2004 prices !), and being a resident within the 'Central Lancashire Deserts' !
. we have experience the well publicised 'Cripto-watsit' bugs in our drinking water ! But suffered no ills to date, cos of our Pozzani ? who knows...
