The system comprises of an extremely strong, recyclable housing containing a high performance, high quality coconut carbon block filter cartridge. The filter fits unobtrusively under the sink and installation is straightforward; no previous plumbing experience is necessary.
After fitting, very little maintenance is required - the carbon cartridge simply needs replacing once every six months.
Filter Logic’s Fortress has been carefully designed to be friendlier on the environment than other comparable filter systems. The housing is incredibly robust which not only prevents any leaking but also ensures longevity. Even when the time does come to replace the housing, it is made from 100% recyclable, BPA free plastic.
The internal carbon cartridge produces very little waste; the block form can be broken apart and even used within the soil in your garden which then only leaves the ends of the cartridge to be disposed of.
Using a system with a permanent housing means you drastically reduce the plastic you throw away by over 40 fold. With the Fortress you dispose of 6 grams of plastic against 250 grams using a conventional disposable cartridge. Changing the cartridge every 6 months over a 10 year period means you dispose of just 120 grams with the Fortress against the 5 kg of plastic that would be thrown away with disposable cartridges.

Once fitted though, worked well.
6 months on and my filter was due a change. Again contacted Pozzani for clarification on what filter I’d need and they were very quick coming back and explaining that I just needed the replacement cartridge - saving me a few quid!
Cartridge comes with step by step instructions and pictures, although the pictures don’t all align with the steps but didn’t take long to figure out. Having followed the instructions, and based on my new filter location, replacing the filter was so easy.
Based on my whole experience moving to this filter, Pozzani customer service, previous performance of the filter and the replacement filter process, will definitely continue using.
