The CX250/CX230 UC cartridge has a 3-stage filtration system.
Stage 1: Ceramic filtration medium (0.9 microns) eliminates 99.8% of bacteria and 98% of suspended solids.
Stage 2: Carbon of high quality with special silver impregnation dramatically reduces chlorine and dissolved organic pollutants such as agro-chemicals, solvents, THM's, TCE's, PCB's, etc.
Stage 3: Block carbon ultra-efficient stage further reduces chlorine, dissolved organic matter and particulates, finally polishing the water.

. I've just moved house and will be buying another filter as soon as I can either work out how to drill through the granite workbench or refit the kitchen.

. As to whether the filters are the best on the planet I do not know. The filters may be filled with old socks or re-cycled T-bags and I would not know.
. I would like more information as to what makes a filter 'better' and for what application one should select a particular filter but at the moment I buy what I think is right, fit them and change them after twelve months.
