A specialist Nitrate removal cartridge designed to reduce levels in high nitrate areas.
This cartridge is commonly used by fishkeepers where nitrates present major problems. However, recently these filters have been sought after by people with concerns about allergy induced autism, with nitrates being one of several contaminents that are thought to be problematic.
Life is proportional to nitrate levels and usage - however - testing the efficiency of this system (i.e. to check the cartridge) can be easily achieved using over the counter test strips (these are available from most pet shops which sell fish).
Important Note:
The life of the filter is proportional to the loading of Nitrate (NO3) and Sulphate (SO4) in the source water and the volume of water used. The more Nitrate and Sulphate in the source water and the more water you use, the faster the filter will exhaust. If you require advice prior to purchasing please contact us.
